BACKGROUND
Carl Brosius is a Senior Consultant to KC/future
planning, inc., and acts as the leading Project
Management resource for the firm. His skill sets include:
- Conceptualization, integration and implementation
of advanced Information Technologies.
- Project Management of new construction and
renovation projects.
- Coordination between Client team Information
Technology and architectural and engineering
design groups.
He is particularly skilled in the definition and
management of major Information Technologies projects;
acting as the liaison between Clients and their design
and vendor groups during the design and construction
process. In the past ten years he has completed planning,
Project Management, coordination and implementation
assignments for over 6,000,000 square feet of Information
Technologies intensive environments.
Mr. Brosius has architectural training and a degree in
Management from Antioch University.
PRIOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Group Vice President with Electronic Systems
Associates (division of Syska & Hennesy) in San
Francisco. In addition to his management responsibilities
he was responsible for creating the project management
and documentation procedures required for the integration
of voice and data networks with the construction process.
Principal-in-Charge for both the New York and San
Francisco offices of GHK, a major national interior
design firm.
He has been involved in the Project Management,
interior design and construction disciplines for over 30
years.
REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS
Pacific Stock Exchange San
Francisco, CA
Base Building evaluation for various new locations
under consideration for relocation. Reports included
review of building entry facilities, access to
diverse communications and electrical services, riser,
HVAC and electrical capacity for each of 6 buildings.
Oakland City Hall - Oakland, CA
Base Building evaluation and integration of the
Information Technology requirements within the
existing structure. Work has included complete
Network Cabling specifications and design of riser
and horizontal Cabling Distribution System within the
existing structure, adhering to historical parameters.
Design of all Network Equipment Closets including
location, size and fitout. Close coordination with
Electrical Engineer and with Audiovisual Consultant.
Close coordination with the Oakland City Information
Services group.
University of California, Office of
the President - Oakland, CA
Project Management, criteria development for LAN
and backbone design of the entire facility, including
a 20,000 SF Computer Room and support complex.
Computer Science Building,
University of California - Berkeley, CA
Development of all Physical Infrastructure
Criteria during Design Development phase of project;
further development of same through completion of A/E
Contract Documentation. Complete Cabling Network
concept, budgets, all Special equipment room layouts,
rack layouts, Active Equipment coordination.
3Com Corporation - Santa Clara, CA
Project Management, criteria development for all
Computer Rooms and Network Equipment Rooms, LAN and
Campus cabling network design.
Bureau of Building Inspection - City
and County of San Francisco, CA
Consulting for the City to enhance the performance
of their internal Department of Electricity and
Telecommunications. Conceptual cabling design for
entire building as well as physical infrastructure
specifications, project management throughout entire
project. Work has included complete building review;
design of Computer Room, PBX area and all Equipment
Closets; complete Cable Plant conceptual design;
Systems Furnishings coordination.
Octel Communications Corporation -
Milpitas, CA
Project Management, criteria development and
layouts for all Computer Rooms, PBX rooms, Network
Equipment Rooms and MPOE. Complete Voice, LAN/MAN/WAN
Network Cabling design and Contract Documentation
management.
Fresno City Hall - Fresno, CA
Complete design of Network and Network Cabling,
including evaluation and re-design of new facility to
accommodate required Information Technologies.
