DANIEL GILL, AIA

BACKGROUND

Dan Gill is a project manager for KC/future planning, inc. with extensive experience integrating building systems, including information technology infrastructure, with renovated and new building construction. His broad based knowledge of the design and construction of office and support facilities is a resource for clients developing and implementing an electronic systems program within a new or existing structure.

Mr. Gill received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Minnesota and has been a registered Architect in the State of California since 1986.

PRIOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Architect and Manager for a 40 person architectural firm responsible for the design and construction administration of new and historic renovation projects incorporating voice and data networks.

Project Designer for a nationally based Interior Design firm specializing in tenant interior design for general office and information technology dependent equities trading spaces.

Project Designer and Manager for a large, international architectural and engineering corporation designing interiors for hospitals and a large corporate data center.

REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS

Emergency Operations and Fire Dispatch Center – City of Oakland, CA
Oversaw the construction of a 14,000 square foot remodel and new addition to an existing fire station to house an emergency operation situation room, a 24/7 fire dispatch center, computer room with supporting office and equipment spaces. Mid construction program changes required the redesign of the computer room and reconfiguration of the cable plant.
Oakland Unified School District – Oakland, CA
Designed and supervised the modernization of 3 schools including the insertion of fiber, copper cable, and computer network equipment into the existing buildings to comply with new standards for computers in the classroom.

AREAS OF PROFESSIONAL PARTICIPATION

Mr. Gill participates as a Project Manager in the following areas:

Planning: Network infrastructure requirements and options are developed based on staffing and system requirements.

Design: Schematic and final designs for network infrastructure are prepared and reviewed with clients.

Installation: Project management during equipment and cabling installations and testing including vendor and contractor coordination.
